Keep Praying!

Love never fails...and now these three remain: faith, hope and love.  But the greatest of these is love.  1 Corinthians 13:8-13

WE ARE SO THRILLED WITH THE PROGRESS CADE HAS MADE THIS PAST WEEK WE WANT TO SCREAM FROM THE ROOFTOPS!!!!

Ever since the shunt adjustment, Cade has been consistently climbing the ladder.  I do believe, however, it's a combination of hitting therapy hard every day, feeling better and being neurologically stable.  We fall into bed exhausted every night, but wake up with such excitement to see what Cade can bring to the day.

First off, check back in a couple of days, as my friend is going to help me download some new photos.  Cade has only been using his new walker for 3 days now, but he is really getting the hang of it.  The first day, he could barely hold himself up....his head fell back, his legs wanted to buckle, his arms wouldn't stay in the arm holders.  But today, he stood straight up and could hold himself steady with no assistance.  A huge difference from 3 days ago!  He looks great.  He is starting to initiate swinging out the left foot, and we are still pushing his right for him.  And today, he kept pushing the walker out in front of him as if to say, "Let's go!!!"  But he needs to get the feet moving first.  He actually used the walker outside today on the sidewalk in front of the house.  He was alert and ready to work.  And exhausted afterwards!  Making for a tough teacher speech session at 2:00...he kept wanting to close his eyes for a nap.  We are videotaping our walking sessions and can really see a difference in just the past three days.  We will post photos as soon as I can figure out the details....I believe it should be this week.....so check back.

Monday, he had a terrific teaching session with his home school teacher.  He loves math and has always excelled at it.  So she has him back doing beginning algebra and solving for X.  I know that the physical activity helps to promote the cognitive.  We are flooding him with therapy and he is getting it.

Even his eating sessions are improving.  We so want to see hand to mouth action, but that is more advanced and he is not ready yet.  So much to still work on.

We are so grateful for the progress that Cade is making, for the hurdles he is jumping and the people who are making it all possible.

THANKS TO ALL OUR TEAM CADE PLAYERS!!

Time flies by.....and we are busier than ever with Cade.  We are long overdue for an update.  It seems the better Cade gets, the less time we have for other things.  His website has suffered, and I am finally getting around to giving you an update.  We have also corrected the problem with the Guestbook and it is open for messages.  Than
